国際古楽コンクール<山梨>を終了致します。
熊本での地震や酷暑の連続など不穏な日々が続く中、どうか皆様お身体細心にお過ごし下さいますようお願い申し上げます。
ヨーロッパでは山火事、猛暑など不順な陽気に戦々恐々としている様子が伝えられています。そんな中、国際古楽コンクール<山梨>実行委員会委員長 荒川恒子さんがドイツ滞在中、体調不良で救急搬送され、ケルンで客死されました。享年83歳でした。ここに謹んでご冥福をお祈りし、お悔やみ申し上げます。
今年第３７回国際古楽コンクール<山梨>実行委員会委員長としてこの4月にコンクールを主催され、(株)印傳屋上原勇七氏と共に、これまで37回を共催してまいりました。
しかし、お知らせ致しました国際古楽コンクール<山梨>実行委員会委員長のご逝去をもって、この、ご共済下さいましたお約束が終了致しました。ここに、国際古楽コンクール<山梨>の終了をご報告申し上げます。長い間ご共済を賜りましたこと、一同厚くお礼申し上げます。
ご後援を賜りました、甲府商工会議所、山梨大学、山梨日日新聞、山梨放送の皆様に厚くお礼申し上げます。
また、コンクール進行のため沢山の楽器を運搬、輸送下さり、更に調律、製作の方々には、お礼の申し上げようもございません。皆様に、心より感謝申し上げます。審査員の先生方、さまざまなコンサートにご協力くださった方々、場所をご提供下さった甲府市の皆様、山梨大学教育学部の学生さん、本当にお世話になりました。心より感謝申し上げます。
そして何よりコンクールに演奏参加下さり、コンクールを支えて下さった皆様に心よりお礼申し上げます。
約40年もの間、若い古楽演奏家を世の中に紹介して、啓蒙を図られた国際古楽コンクール<山梨>が終焉を迎えることは痛恨の極みです。新しい世代に古楽の面白さを呼びかけ、刺激を与え続けてきたことは、委員長荒川恒子さんの止まることの無い創作魂によるところでしょう。
常に新鮮な視点で海外よりこのコンクールに審査員としてエキスパートを迎え、彼らによる公開レッスンを設定する、この国際古楽コンクール<山梨>の創造的な試みはいつまでも古楽界に一条の光を放ち続けることを確信しています。

Concluding the International Competition for Early Music YAMANASHI, Japan
As we face uncertain times with earthquakes in Kumamoto and relentless heatwaves, we sincerely hope everyone takes the utmost care of their health.
Reports from Europe describe alarming conditions with severe heat and wildfires. Amidst these challenging circumstances, Ms. Tsuneko Arakawa, Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the International Competition for Early Music YAMANASHI, Japan, fell ill while staying in Germany. She was rushed to the emergency room and passed away in Cologne at the age of 83. We offer our deepest condolences and pray for her peaceful repose.
This April, Ms. Arakawa led the 37th International Competition for Early Music YAMANASHI, Japan as Chairperson of the Executive Committee, having co-organized the event alongside INDEN-YA Co., Ltd. Mr. Yushichi Uehara across all 37 editions.
With the passing of the Executive Committee Chairperson, our joint sponsorship agreement has come to an end. We hereby officially report the conclusion of the International Competition for Early Music YAMANASHI, Japan. We express our profound gratitude for the long-standing co-sponsorship and support.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our supporters: the Kofu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yamanashi University, Yamanashi Nichinichi Shimbun, and Yamanashi Broadcasting System.
Our deepest gratitude also goes to those who transported countless instruments, as well as the tuners and instrument makers whose invaluable work made the competition possible—words cannot fully express our appreciation. We sincerely thank the judges, everyone who assisted with various concerts, the people of Kofu City who provided venues, and the students of the Faculty of Education at Yamanashi University.
Most of all, we offer our heartfelt thanks to all the musicians who participated and supported the competition throughout the years.
It brings us immense sorrow that the International Competition for Early Music YAMANASHI, Japan, which has introduced and promoted young early music performers to the world for nearly 40 years, is coming to a close. Its ability to continually inspire new generations with the fascination of early music was driven entirely by Chairperson Tsuneko Arakawa’s relentless creative spirit.
By inviting international experts as judges and organizing public masterclasses with fresh perspectives, the creative endeavors of the International Competition for Early Music YAMANASHI, Japan will undoubtedly continue to shine as a beacon in the early music world.
May she rest in peaceful repose
